Virtual exhibition: The detail revealed. A new look in museums

The exhibition “The detail revealed. A look in museums” presented the important work carried out in Spain to facilitate digital access to culture and heritage. It was held in the Cerralbo Museum from 15 December 2011 to 29 February 2012.

With photographs of 16 selected items from national museums, the exhibition showed the digitalisation process of many important artworks in Spain's museums, undertaken by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports. This digitalisation project enables a detailed analysis of aspects in the works that may be overlooked when viewed in the museum.

The aim of the digitalisation project is to break down the barriers of accessibility to Spain’s culture and heritage. This way, the general public has the chance to rediscover the collections in Spain's museums through a wide range of graphic documents, by using tools such as the on-line catalogue of collections - Digital Network of Spanish Museum Collections (CERES) - and the portal that promotes the dissemination of the cultures of Spain (www.españ
