World Heritage

World Heritage

Our artistic, natural and cultural heritage has been recognised the world over. Spain has 55 sites which have been awarded the World Heritage designation by the UNESCO, which makes it the country with the third largest number of resources protected under this system in the world. Moreover, the very character of each one of these resources is a faithful reflection of the variety and cultural richness of our country: monumental buildings, historic quarters and architectural sites exist alongside landscapes, nature areas, routes and ethnological traditions.
