Design, fashion and illustration

Spain also boasts major figures in these arts and disciplines. Spain has been the breeding ground for a range of genuine creators and multitalented artists in the world of advertising and political illustration. The poster industry of the first half of the 20th century was particularly fertile, and coincided with the boom in advertising and with such avant-garde schools as Modernism, in a climate of great political ferment. In fashion, salons and catwalks from all over the world showcase the works of Spanish couturiers and designers. Design is today another activity where Spain is in a leading position.

Royal Tapestry Factory.  -  This is a reference of decorative arts and artisanal manufacturing. It has a valuable collection of carpets and tapestries with pieces designed by such important painters as Goya and Juan Gris.   See more
