Cadaqués, in the heart of the Costa Brava, is one of the essential destinations to visit for anyone wishing to know more about the life and works of the genius of Surrealism, Salvador Dalí.

In Cadaqués there’s a surprise waiting for you in the house of the Surrealist genius Salvador Dalí. Known as the Portlligat House-Museum, it consists of a group of fishermen's cabins forming a kind of maze, which Dalí modified over 40 years to create this incredible home and workshop. You'll feel you're walking into a dream as you move through the courtyard or the irregularly-proportioned rooms, or when you see the objects belonging to Dalí like his rugs, his antique furniture or such strange items as giant eggs, a sofa in the shape of a pair of lips, and a Michelin man model.

In Cadaqués you’ll also be able to enjoy all the attractions on offer in this charming town on the Costa Brava, where you can swim against a backdrop of little white houses overlooking the sea, and let yourself be soothed by the tranquillity and the light that inspired Dalí himself.

Art lovers will have the chance to visit the Púbol Castle (about 50 kilometres away) which Dalí designed for the woman he loved, and the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres (40 kilometres) 'the largest surrealist object in the world'.
