National Architecture Award

It recognises the professional career of an architect, because of the quality of the work or because the architect has made an innovative contribution, or become a reference in the sector.

This award, worth 30,000 euros, is organised every year by the Ministry of Public Works. Professionals such as Santiago Calatrava, Carlos Ferrater and Matilde Ucelay, amongst others, have received this award. It can also be given posthumously if no more than two years have gone by since the architect's death. The panel of judges is made up of representatives from the San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts and the College of Architects, Quantity Surveyors and Technical Architects.
