Under the premises of the Italian neo-realist genre, this salient drama takes on the subject of rural exodus from the country to the city. 
 

The Pérez family are farmers who move to the city of Madrid in search of a better life. However, things are not as easy as they seem. The father finds a job in a smelting plant, though the pace of the work is hectic; the eldest son gets caught up in black market activities; the youngest son takes on a job as an errand boy and the daughter gets hired as a housemaid.
