Mi querida señorita

Year

1971

A film showing great delicacy in dealing with a subject that was very polemical at this time – transvestism – and that underlines the social limitations faced by women.

Adela is a spinster of good family living in a provincial capital in the north of Spain. She has always wanted to marry, but does not feel she is attractive enough to be liked by men. What is more, she is attracted to women. She asks for advice from her confessor, who sends her to the doctor. The doctor explains her real situation to her: she is a man. The discovery will change her life completely.
