Brilliant film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Miguel Delibes. Its male stars won an award at Cannes. 

In a large farmhouse in Extremadura in the 1960s, the gentry’s idea what is their property includes people. Paco and his wife, Régula, live and work on the estate, together with their three children and Régula’s disabled brother, Azarías. The owners visit the farmhouse occasionally for a few days of hunting and relaxation. During their stays, they demand absolute servitude. The established order seems as though it will never change.
