Director Bigas Luna makes a film adaptation of a French romantic novel.

Horty is a French worker who wins the annual competition at the foundry where he works, in 1912. The prize is a return ticket to Southampton to see the Titanic set off on its maiden voyage. At night in the hotel, someone knocks on his door: it is a beautiful chambermaid who works on the Titanic asking to be put up for the night. Horty is fascinated by her. However, next morning she disappears without saying goodbye.
