In a small village in Castile, drought and bad harvests have made life become very hard. Juan is a farm worker living in the village with his wife, son and father. Juan ends in prison after an argument with the man who runs the district. His wife, Acacia, then leaves the village, which seems to be cursed. Three years later, Juan gets out of prison to find his wife with another man.
