This is a Spanish film classic. Nevertheless, it is an unfinished work, as shooting of the film has to end some weeks before planned because of lack of money.

“La Gaviota” is a house with a weather vane, located in the outskirts of a city in northern Spain. It is the home of Agustín, a doctor and water diviner (a person who can find underground springs), his wife Julia and his daughter Estrella. The child is fascinated by the figure of her father, whom she considers a mysterious man in possession of magic power. When Estrella grows up, she begins to suspect that there has been another woman in her father’s life who lived somewhere in the south. From this moment on, she insists on trying to find the woman’s identity.
