Original title

El bosque del lobo

Year

1970

Director

Pedro Olea

Considered a modern Spanish film classic in the horror genre. The film enters into a criminal mind to create something between a chronicle of events and an anthropological study.

Benito Freire suffers epileptic attacks. He works as a pedlar, going from town to town, in an environment of superstition and underdevelopment. A rumour begins to circulate in the region saying that Benito is a werewolf. Benito ends by believing the stories told about him and, on nights with a full moon, accompanies villagers through the forest where he kills them.
