El bosque animado

Year

1987

Based on the novel by the Galician writer, Wenceslao Fernández Flórez, this portrayal of customs and manners mixes humour, reality and legend to create a fantastic universe of characters.

The bandit Fendetestas, the Holy Company, a lame well-digger, a lonely ghost, a girl who wants to emigrate... These are some of the inhabitants of a peculiar forest. Their interweaving stories make up a particular social microcosm, with room for comedy, harsh reality, magic and roguishness.
