This is one of the best known “Beatus”: manuscript codices which copy the “Comment on the Book of the Apocalypse of Saint John” produced by Beatus of Liébana, Abbot of the Santo Toribio Monastery in the 8th century.

It contains the iconographic programme of the “Beatus”. With Visigoth writing, it contains primary polychrome initial capitals, come with ribbons (decorations in the form of knots). It originates from the sale of church lands at the Rioja Monastery of San Millán.
