La Anunciación

The painting is thought to be one of the last versions of “The Annunciation” by El Greco.

El Greco painted numerous works on the theme of the Annunciation which allow the development of his pictorial style to be traced through his handing of this biblical episode. This painting is clearly influenced by the Venetian style. The light and the colouring are a testament to the painter's admiration for Titian's treatment of colour, while the study and depiction of the drapery are clearly reminiscent of Tintoretto.
