Autorretrato con gorra y dos cadenas

One of Rembrandt's most exceptional self-portraits and a faithful mirror into his soul.

Through his use of chiaroscuro, Rembrandt offers us an accurate depiction of his feelings and state of mind.

Like all his self-portraits, this work reveals his emotions and moods through the use of chiaroscuro and the strong contrasts between light and shade. This work has undergone detailed scientific analyses which have confirmed beyond a doubt that this is the work of Rembrandt, and one of his finest self portraits.
