Infante muerto

A sculpture which is probably the daughter of Isabella II, in which naturalism and realism, typical of the Valencian Romantic artist and last chamber sculptor, stand out.

Infanta María Cristina died on 8 January 1854 when she was just three days old. José Piquer depicts her lying half-naked on a luxurious mattress and pillow, adorned with fleur-de-lis.
