Conceptual sculpture of a deer which in the ancient cultures on the peninsula played a role at funerals and as an oracle.

It originally crowned a funerary column. It is made of sandstone and is almost cubic in shape.

Its symbol, the deer, is related to hunting. It was the sacred animal associated with the worship of the Greek goddess Artemis. It was also an image of nature which, like its horns, is reborn each year, and is thus linked to rebirth and the beyond. It was thought to be an animal that carried the souls of the dead to the other world.
