The image shows part of the ancient art of Altamira: silhouettes twisted or filled in with red ink.

The ink they used is made of mineral ochre dissolved in water. Because it is extremely simple and fragile, it impossible to let so many people get near to contemplate it if we want to preserve it.

The people used to paint right inside dark parts of the cave, and the paintings reflected their thoughts, their way of understanding and representing the fleeting nature of their world.
