Potrait of María Teresa de Borbón in which her helpless attitude is highlighted with the gesture of her hands, which the young girl is crossing timidly over her lap.
The portrait was made three years after marrying Don Manuel Godoy, when she was 19 years old and expecting her first child: Carlota. The Countess is dressed fashionably, with white gauze dress decorated with small flowers; her abundant curls are swept up into a headdress adorned with ears of wheat, a symbol of fertility, the promise of her future child. She is sitting in an elegant chair, her sweet blue eyes looking to the right and there is a hint of a smile, avoiding the observer's gaze. On her right hand she is wearing a large ring with the portrait of a knight, who is Godoy without doubt, wearing the sash of the Order of Charles III.
