The Gothic sensuality of Eve and the solidness of the body are aspects that stand out in this impressive nude, the first life-size figure in Nordic painting.

Dürer uses a pinkish white tone for the woman's skin and alludes subtly to the Original Sin, with the motifs that are around her. It goes with a portrait of Adam of similar proportions.

Dürer expressed his studies and conclusions in a treatise on human proportions and perspective. This document was valid for future northern European artists.
