This type of large tombstone was in the past found attached to funerary monuments in which one or more people were buried.

This rectangular tombstone has three broken corners and conserves the four complete lines of the inscription. It was found in the eastern necropolis above the door of a columbaria (a group of niches where funeral urns were placed) of a family of prosperous freed slaves. The piece refers to 'C Iulius Felix, freeman of de C(aius) and of Quinta Caecilia Mauriola, freewoman of Caecilia'. At the end, added at a later date, appears the name of another person –C Iulius Modestus, aged 27–, who was probably the son of these two individuals.
