In this publicity image the author introduces elements of the Nueva Visión (a Bahaus-related movement) that introduces abstract shots, high angles, low angles, back lighting and photomontages, etc.

Pere Català Pic started his photographic career as an assistant photographer to Rafael Areñas in Barcelona. Later on, he opened his own studio in Valls, where he worked upon his return to Barcelona in 1931. He was one of the theoretical pioneers of avant-garde photography, having come under the influence of the new currents. He has published several articles, such as La nova visió fotogràfica in the Temps de Valls, Fotografia i publicitat in Mirador , the weekly publication, and La evolución fotográfica in the magazine, Ford. As a creator he excelled as an experimenter, using all of the resources available to him to endow publicity with greater energy, through applications such as, photomontages, single frames and double exposures.
