A noteworthy work of Bartolomé Bermejo reminiscent of Flemish models, in which the expressivity and delicacy of the details stand out.

The Resurrection is one of the four remaining sections of an altarpiece by Bartolmé Bermejo dedicated to Christ. In this section, Christ is depicted coming out of tomb under the gaze of an adoring angel, while the soldiers on watch are terrified by the miracle taking place before their eyes. We see the three Marys in the background making their way to the tomb from Jerusalem laden with bottles of perfume to rub onto Christ’s body.
