El nombre de las minas en Roma

Pyramid-shaped ingot, showing that the Romans rented mining rights to individuals.

It has a stamp in the centre that reads "C. AQVINI. M. F”. This is an Italic name referring to someone who rented mining rights in Cartagena.

The outskirts of this city were very rich in argentiferous galena (a mineral) that the Romans mined by renting rights to both individuals and companies.
