Ánfora romana de vino

Carthagonova, "reserve" amphorae and wines

It was made on Italy’s Adriatic coast and intended for transporting wine.

It can be classified within the type known as Lamboglia 2 (with its large belly, short neck and long narrow spike). They were more widespread in the eastern Mediterranean and are frequently found in the southeast area of the Iberian peninsula, particularly during the first century B. C.

On the rim there are seals bearing Greek and slave names, most of them connected to a second seal showing a winged victory inscribed inside an oval.
