Portrait of the emperor Claudius from the site of the 'schola' in the 'collegium fabrum' at Tárraco (site of the association of construction workers).

It is immediately recognisable as a portrait of Claudius due to the hairstyle and the emperor's characteristic features. Even so, this portrait from Tarragona is characterised by a degree of idealisation compared to most of the portraits of this emperor, in which the features are more personal and which denote his real age. These leads to the conclusion that it was carried out shortly after his accession to the throne (41 A.D.).
