Volume, pleated wrapping, which defies gravity

This almost impossible structure combines ruffles, curved pleats and notes of colour.

The cape gives the female form a rounded shape, run through with a rainbow of colours in a veritable explosion of fantasy which recalls the pictographic works of Mariano Fortuny and his hallmark pleats. This piece is a fine example of the work of this brilliant designer and his interest in revival. Using his unbounded imagination and an approach to risk which he takes to its ultimate expression, he analyses and explores the Art of Armour. In fact, he found his inspiration in the work involved in the manufacture of steel armour and gold craftsmanship.

His art was basically a sculpture, where volume is defined by the technique, texture, colour and finish.
