This piece evinces the Flemish influence in gothic painting at the end of the 15th century in Majorca.

The contrast and sumptuousness of the colour, and the monumental, solemn presentation of the figures, outside of space and time, are typical features of the work of Pere Terrencs, a Majorcan painter trained in Valencia. The painting is a pyramidal composition depicting Saint Anne as she blesses and presents Mary, while seated at her feet. Mary is holding the Infant Jesus, and offering him a pear.
The precise, careful drawing is especially notable in the treatment of the clothing: vibrant colours and sharp folds of great plasticity, allowing the cloth itself to suggest the figures as still as statues.
