Devotional painting based on the Marian Litany, a rogation to the Virgin which was said in the early years of the 17th century on the feasts dedicated to the Madonna.

In this work, the palm and cypress trees symbolise, as well as the chastity of the Virgin, her triumph over original sin, represented by the serpent writhing at her feet under the full moon.
