An example of prehistoric religious belief in the province of Jaén

This small idol with eyes was crafted from a sheep or goat bone, with small incisions filled with red iron oxide. Facial traits are represented using oblique lines with parallel incisions, and the idol has particularly large eyes. It was found during an excavation in Eras del Alcázar, in Úbeda, and dates from the Argaric Copper Age.
