These plaque idols are frequent in the dolmens in southeast Spain and are related above all to the funerary world.

Thought to date from around 2100 B.C., in the Chalcolithic era, it was found in Valencina de la Concepción (Seville). It is made from a trapezoid-shaped slate plate decorated on both sides with incised motifs.

It depicts a schematised human face similar to the cylindrical idols dating from this period, with suns for eyes and the characteristic lines tattooed on the face. It differs from the cylindrical idols in its geometric decoration, with triangles which are alternatively filled in with a dense reticule. The museum has a good selection of this types of idols, including the ones found in the Cueva de la Mora cave (Jabugo, Huelva).
