The survival of an Andalusian industry
Pedestal that was probably part of a larger monument, with an inscription that shows the importance of olive tree growing in Cástulo.
This item was probably the base of a statue. It is the cover-epigraph of a rescript order (a decision of a sovereign about a consultation) which regulated the administration or tax on food provision (annona). The whole text in the inscription says: "RESCRIPTUM SACRUM DE RE OLEARIA" (Sacred rescript concerning olive tree growing).
