Memoria del Taunus

The works of Ricardo Calero are a testament to the creative processes and aesthetic developments which occur over time. They thus became transformed into artistic footprints through which actions are reflected.

This competition is a diptych comprising a photograph of the place in which the artistic action took place (the Taunus mountains in Germany) and ten papers resulting from that work, created during the spring of 2001. The work encapsulates the time, the memory and the light of a small nature reserve in one of the industrialised zones in the heart of Europe.

In recent years, Calero has created his pieces and interventions using apparently fragile and transparent processes and materials, which reveal the dichotomy between the material-immaterial of an aesthetic discourse rooted in the deepest experiences of nature.
