The works of these two great authors (also joined by the introduction of Italian Renaissance poetry into Spain) are collected in this valuable publication considered a reliable source.

It was Boscán himself who hired bookseller Joan Bages to print his poetry, which came out in 1543 from Carles Amoros’s press. It is believed that this edition reproduces an original manuscript prepared by Boscán himself and selected from his works. The poems are distributed into three books: the first book includes his still medieval work, the second contains 92 sonnets and 10 Italianising songs, the third has the Epistle to Mendoza, from the allegorical poem Eighth rhyme, and the Story of Hero and Leandro, paraphrase of Museo. In Book IV there are odes, elegies and sonnets by Garcilaso, whose manuscripts had been given to his good friend Boscán when he died, which is explained in a preliminary note that addresses the readers.
