Los trapos sucios

Originally a radio character, the children’s novel saga revolving around the main character ‘Manolito Gafotas’ has met with great success. This is the fourth in the series.

‘Manolito Gafotas’ is a loquacious, true blue denizen of the Carabanchel Alto neighbourhood in Madrid endowed with an innate curiosity for the world, which he observes from the vantage point of his own home and neighbourhood. All that he contemplates is explained to us in the language he is exposed to from his family members, the adults that surround him and the television programmes he watches.

This unique creation of the author and script writer, Elvira Lindo, is one of the biggest literary and movie successes in recent years with the Spanish public and critics alike.

This volume of the collection sees a different ingredient added to the adventures of ‘Manolito Gafotas’: a new and strange young girl joins his class at school and sees him discover the world of love, with the Christmas holidays and the normal vicissitudes of his comings and goings forming the background to the story.
