The stories of a serial killer and Laia are intertwined in “Lamia”, the work by Rayco Pulido that won the National Comic Award 2017.

“Lamia” was created in Barcelona in 1943 when the bloodiest murderer in the city escaped. The doctor, Mauricio, a fairly unconventional private detective drops everything to hunt down the criminal who has been making his clients disappear, including Laia, the protagonist of the story. Rayco Pulido won the National Comic Award 2017 for this noir graphic novel thanks to his formal and aesthetic innovation. Rayco also makes the most of this noir story to narrate a part of our past using the role of the woman in this period with the utmost care.
