Original title

Fandangos por verdiales

Antonio 'el Bailarín' brings to the stage this dance and the popular festivities with such a deeply-rooted tradition in certain areas throughout the province of Malaga.

After a hard year marked by the break-up with his artistic partner, the dancer Rosario –with whom he had performed in all the top American and European cafés– Antonio 'el Bailarín' set off on a new direction in his career. He set up his first company, Antonio Ballet Español, and went on to present various new choreographies in the city of Granada.
The fruit of that new impulse was 'Fandangos por Verdiales', in which he aimed to transfer to the stage all the high sprits, dynamism and warmth of the Verdiales, a series of popular and festive dances typical of the area of Malaga. The guitar accompaniment provided an additional touch of Andalusian flavour to the choreography.
