Antonio 'el Bailarín' once again sought inspiration in the work of the composer Manuel de Falla in this flamenco version of the ballet 'The three-cornered hat'.
Reasserting his admiration for the music of Falla, in 1958 Antonio 'el Bailarín' reinterpreted one of his best-known works based on the novel of the same name by Pedro Antonio de Alarcón. The author was dissatisfied with the previous productions and decided to create his own version, giving it a particularly Spanish feel.
The work was first performed in the city of Granada, and had a fresh and distinctly Andalusian flavour, with continuous allusions to flamenco culture. Its overwhelming success led to another international tour which this time included venues in Milan, Edinburgh, Johannesburg, Brussels and London.
