The history of Valencia through art

The Valencia Museum of Fine Arts takes a journey through Valencian painting from the 14th century to the present day.

The Valencia Museum of Fine Arts, also known as the San Pío V Museum, is a benchmark museum in the Region of Valencia. Almost three centuries have gone by since was founded in 1837, and over the years it has witnessed the vicissitudes of the history of the city of Valencia. It holds an extensive art gallery and a large collection of drawings, etchings, sculptures, archaeological remains and architectural pieces, as well as pieces of furniture from the past. The complete collection of Gothic panels stands out because of its quality. In the museum there is also one of the most important 16th century Renaissance courtyards: the courtyard of the Vich ambassador.
