The cultural heritage of a Roman city
The exhibition hall, situated in a historical 14th century building, reconstructs the ancient history of Sagunto with the preserved collections.
Sagunto Archaeological Museum tells about the Iberian-Roman period in the ancient Arse-Saguntum by means of the history of the city's archaeology. The journey starts in Iberian times. The city's Romanisation process after the Second Punic War culminated in a flourishing period of the public areas, which filled up with monuments. Sculptures, mosaics and everyday life elements show us the aesthetic tastes and private lifestyle of the citizens, as well as the intense trade and cultural relations with other Mediterranean cities.
