Thanks to the high quality of the collections and the magnificent representation of many of the most important artists in the history of painting, the Prado Museum is often considered "a museum of masterpieces".
A museum where visitors can admire the world’s most complete collections of works by Titian, Velázquez, Ribera, Murillo, Goya, Rubens, Hieronymus Bosch and El Greco, and an exhaustive view of the Spanish school of the Modern Age, from the 16th century masters to Sorolla. The museum also has a fine collection of 16th century Venetian paintings, with masterpieces by Tintoretto and Veronese, Flemish paintings from the 15th century (Van der Weyden, Memling, etc.) and 16th century (Van Dyck, Rubens, Jordaens, etc.), 17th century French classicists, Italian Baroque painting and Roman sculptures.
