The Mint Museum is considered one of the most important of its kind. Located at the Spanish Royal Mint, it shows the history of money from its origins through to the present day, as well as different methods of currency production. It has major collections of coins, medals, models, dies, minting machinery and tools, bank notes, postage stamps, plates for printing notes and stamps, lottery tickets, and hallmarked paper. To complete the exhibition there is a large collection of prints and drawings, as well as an interesting historical library with books from the 15th-19th centuries.
