A series of costumes and designs show the career of the brilliant Spanish couturier, Cristóbal Balenciaga.
Situated in his hometown, Getaria, it is the first museum in the world dedicated exclusively to a designer. Important people such as Christian Dior, Givenchy and Coco Chanel declared their admiration for Balenciaga. The museum is situated in a building adjoining the Aldamar Palace, the place where the couturier began his career. The permanent exhibition includes a selection of 90 items, including Queen Fabiola of Belgium's wedding dress, and the dresses designed for the Princess of Monaco, Grace Kelly. The Cristóbal Balenciaga Foundation's collections are also exhibited temporarily, made up of more than 1,200 models.
