From Tapiès to Klee
The museum contains works by artists from the last 50 years.
The MACBA was designed by the American architect Richard Meier and inaugurated in 1995. It features works by contemporary artists such as Antoni Tàpies, Paul Klee, Francesc Torres, Mario Merz and Zush. Its collection focuses on the legacy of the second half of the 20th century, and seeks to establish a critical memory of the art of this period, from the point of view of the cultural and political reality of a particular city: Barcelona.
