This monument belongs to the Tarragona archaeological site, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Centcelles is a Roman villa built near Tarraco in the 4th century. The mausoleum is the most important paleo-Christian monument from Roman Spain. Excavations have found remains of walls and apses, a rectangular building about 15 metres long. The interior contains two rooms, one with a four-lobe floor plan and the other circular, covered by a dome with the remains of mosaics depicting hunting scenes, the Old Testament and allegories of the seasons.
