The church was built on the site where it is thought the children Justo and Pastor from Alcalá were martyred.The building was formerly an old Collegiate church rebuilt by Cardinal Cisneros. There are three naves and an ambulatory.The roof of the central nave is covered by ogive vaults and with tierceron sides.The main front of the facade is flamboyant Gothic in style with a segmental and tympanum arch, decorated with shields of the Church and Cisneros, and an image of San Ildefonso. On the high altar the incorrupt body of San Diego de Alcalá.
