Open-cut mines dating from the Roman period. They have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Open-cut mine dating from the Roman period of Hispania.. It is in the district of Bierzo, in León, about 20 kms. from Ponferrada They are reached from the Orense-Carucedo road. A canal system brings the water from the Eria and Cabrera Rivers over 100 kilometres away. The landscape is a stunning red.

Daily, mornings from 11.00 am to 02.00 pm. Afternoon opening times may vary depending on the time of year. Guided tours on Sunday at 11.30 am and 12.00 pm.
1 November to 28 February, daily from 10.45 am to 03.00 pm. Guided tours at 11.00 am and at 01.00 pm.
Closed: from 23 December to 6 January.
Las Médulas Archaeological Centre:
From 1 April to 30 September, daily from 10.00 am to 01.30 pm and from 04.00 pm to 08.00 pm.

Canals visitor centre:
