
Martyr and patron saint of Mérida.
The monument is located in the centre of the square and was erected in honour of the patron saint of Mérida. It belongs to Mérida’s archaeological site, which has the UNESCO World Heritage designation.
The base is a square pedestal, on which three cylindrical altar stones are situated, with Corinthian capitals on top. The image at the top is medieval and represents the young Eulalia, martyr of the city.
