
Some thirty prehistoric engravings and paintings
It is part of the Altamira Caves and Palaeolithic Cave Art in northern Spain declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Located in a narrow valley on the banks of the Cares River. It runs for 700 metres and has one of the region’s most abundant arrays of prehistoric art. There are engravings and paintings of deer, reindeer horns, goats, snakes and a bison. It is also known as ‘La Concha de la Cueva’.
